Trevornick Holiday Park
We were invited to stay at Trevornick Holiday Park in June 2024, which is situated in one of Cornwall’s most spectacular locations, perched above Holywell Bay near Newquay. We had visited the beach at Holywell Bay some years ago, a wide, sandy beach backed by grassy dunes and surrounded by rugged headlands, rocky islands and caves. There is also a lovely stream that runs down to the sea, which is great fun for children to paddle in. A National Trust car park is located a short walk from the beach but the beauty of staying at Trevornick is that you can take a pleasant walk down past their golf course and through the sand dunes to find yourself on the beach in about 20 minutes.
We were staying in one of the luxury lodges at Trevornick and it certainly had the “Wow” factor. The lodges are sited on their own separate area known as ‘Gulls Rocks Beach’, named after the shape of the two distinct rocks that sit in the sea just away from Holywell Bay beach. All of the luxury lodges have three bedrooms and come fully equipped with everything you will need whilst on holiday.
Our lodge was Harlyn No.8, which was one of the pet-friendly models, there are also lodges that have hot tubs, where you can enjoy a soak with a glass of fizz as you watch the sun go down over Gull Rocks. On entering the lodge for the first time, you immediately feel relaxed, with an ambience of being on the coast due to the light, airy space throughout coupled with five-star furnishings and fittings.
The whole family can relax on the large corner sofa or dine at the six-seat table in the open plan living area. Soak up the Cornish sun on your own decking area after a day exploring Holywell Bay beach.
The kitchen comes fully equipped with all of the essentials including a dishwasher, microwave, oven, fridge, freezer, toaster, coffee maker and wine cooler.
Three bedrooms are standard in the lodges, the master bedroom has a double bed and the other two bedrooms has two singles. As well as a bathroom across the hallway the master bedroom comes equipped with its own en-suite shower, and another flatscreen television. All of the bedrooms have beautiful fittings and furnishings.
Another nice touch that you will find at Trevornick if you are staying in one of the lodges is an electronic gate that recognises your number plate as you access your private driveway to park your car. There is also a keypad to activate it if you are on foot.
As well as the luxury lodges at Trevornick, they also cater for touring and camping, caravans and cottages. The holiday park has a heated outdoor pool and Splash Zone, and no fewer than four places on site to enjoy a bite to eat or a drink. Three golf courses including an 18-hole Par 3 course, an 18-hole Pitch and Putt and a 16-hole, Mini Golf. There is something suitable for all age groups and abilities.
Enjoy peace, quiet and great fishing holidays in Cornwall at one of Trevornick’s two well stocked, coarse fishing ponds. If you don’t have your own fishing tackle, that’s no problem, you can hire everything you need from ‘The Bait shack’ which can be found just next to the ponds. There is a very well stocked on-site shop for all of your provisions.
Location, location, location…Trevornick Holiday Park is perfectly situated to explore this part of Cornwall. Whilst staying here we managed to visit Newquay, Perranporth, Wheal Coates, Crantock, West Pentire, Bedruthan Steps and Chapel Porth.
Thank you to Jodie and Trevornick Holiday Park for inviting us to experience such a beautiful time at Holywell Bay
